A volunteer movement will power the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024.
The Volunteer Program presented by TC Energy includes more than 1,300 passionate Calgarians, and supporters from across the country, who will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment that will inspire everyone who visits the Stampede City to create lasting memories while supporting the mission and purpose for Calgary 2024 — to create a legacy of inclusive change through connection!
Volunteers have been the cornerstone of the Special Olympics movement since its inception in 1969. Special Olympics would not exist today — and could not have been created — without the time, energy, commitment, and enthusiasm of volunteers.
That will be no different in Calgary February 27 – March 2. Volunteerism – ranging from Team managers to field of play officials to administrators, event planners, program leads and medical staff, Calgary’s volunteer spirit that ignited during the 1988 Olympics will once again be the heartbeat of these Games.
Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024 and its premier partner, TC Energy, will hold a Volunteer Rally on February 11 to celebrate each volunteer’s contribution to the movement, distribute volunteer uniforms and provide final details on all roles and responsibilities.
“I’m proud that TC Energy and our incredible employees are supporting the Games through sponsorship of the Volunteer Program. We are united in our belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to participate in sports. Together, we are committed to making these Games a memorable and impactful experience for all involved,” said François Poirier, President and CEO of TC Energy, and Games Co-chair.
Together. We can.
