A short 20-minute celebration of the athletes for invited guests will be themed around a Country Glitz and Glam. The high-energy event, held at the Big Four Roadhouse in Stampede Park, will showcase Calgary artists memorable special guests, and a performance by the Calgary Stampede Show Band. Choreographed to create impactful moments between the athletes and local artists at the Opening Ceremony is made possible by support from Calgary Arts Development. The action-packed Closing Ceremony is designed to celebrate inspirational moments, athletic achievement and a successful mission of leveraging sport as a catalyst for transformative change for a more inclusive Calgary, Alberta and Canada before passing the Special Olympics torch on to the next summer host city, Medicine Hat, Alta.
