Special Olympics Canada Winter Games to Move Safeway’s Champions Celebration Inside to Calgary’s City Hall on Saturday
CALGARY—Due to an expected blast of cold weather on Saturday, the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024 will move its Safeway Champions Celebration inside to Calgary’s City Hall Atrium.
The Games Organizing Committee will hold a public come-and-go event, March 2 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. for Calgarians to show their support for the more than 800 Special Olympics athletes competing at the Games. Only 1,000 people will be able to access the Atrium at any given time.
Put on your red and white clothing and celebrate the power of the Special Olympics movement by joining the community for a day of fun activities and entertainment. The FREE event for the whole family will include a pancake breakfast, fun prize giveaways, DJ music, and photo booths while cheering on the Games’ medallists as they take the podium for an awards presentation.
